Event for young people – Saturday 27 April

Apr 18, 2024

We’re inviting young people to give us their views at a Public Involvement event.

  • Saturday 27 April 2024
  • 2 – 4pm
  • African Caribbean Centre, Maidstone Rd, Leicester LE2 0UA

We need help to design a national testing network. It will be a new way to test drugs and technology for adults, children and young people living with obesity. It needs to work for people like you.

Why?

Lots of new treatments like drugs, wearable devices and apps are being developed to help people lose weight. Our testing network will help the NHS to get them more quickly and safely. We want you to tell us what is important to you, so we get the design of the network right.

Who?

Children and young people aged 10-18 years with a parent, carer or guardian.

How?

Join a group with other people. Listen to a description of the testing network. Tell us what you think. If you want to stay involved, you can join our advisory group.

What’s in it for me?

You will impact how obesity treatments are tested to make sure they are right for people like you and your families. For your time you will get a £50 voucher (£25 for a child, £25 for a parent/carer/guardian).

Coffee, tea and refreshments will also be provided, as well as some fun activity, including bowling and jewellery making

If you would like to take part email: nihrleicesterppie@uhl-tr.nhs.uk
