We are always looking for new volunteers, with and without health conditions, to join the Leicester BioResource. Once you become a member of the BioResource you could be matched to research studies and invited to take part.
Every person who joins plays an important role in our efforts to understand the links between genes, the environment, health and disease.
Watch this video to find out how you can make a difference by taking part.
What is the BioResource?
We are a partnership of volunteers and researchers, working together to enable high-impact medical research into a variety of common and rare diseases and helping improve patient outcomes, by accelerating diagnosis and developing new treatments.
We are part of the NIHR BioResource and here at the NIHR BioResource Centre Leicester, our main research interests are in common cardiovascular diseases including coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, hypertension and vascular disease. Our two main research themes are Cardiovascular Genetics and Biomarkers, and Novel (or new) Cardiovascular Interventions. For more details click here.
The Leicester BioResource Centre is hosted by the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, in partnership with the University of Leicester.
