“Digital interventions may have unique complexities, meaning we can apply much of what we already know about evaluation and reporting, rather than reinventing the wheel.”
With this thought-provoking insight, a national gathering of over 50 researchers explored innovative methods for developing and evaluating digital interventions for Multiple Long-Term Conditions (MLTCs). Hosted by NIHR Leicester BRC, the event welcomed delegates from BRCs across the UK and other healthcare organisations, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange in digital health research.

Chaired by Professor Sally Singh and Professor Laura Gray, the event featured key contributions from Prof. Andre Ng of NIHR Leicester BRC, alongside leading voices in the field including Professor Mike Lewis (NIHR Scientific Director for Innovation) and Martin Njoroge from NICE.

A key discussion revolved around the estimands framework – an approach to defining treatment effects in clinical trials.
Delegates posed critical questions about its efficiency and real-world application in digital health, with Professor Laura Gray offering valuable insights.
