Leicester’s BRC & CRF were pleased to welcome the Director of Science, Research and Evidence at the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and Deputy CEO of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Dr Gail Marzetti (pictured on the left) and Dr Natalie Owen, Head of Infrastructure at the DSHC (pictured on the right), on Monday 23 October.
Natalie and Gail, along with other members of the NIHR heard from the Director of the BRC, Professor Melanie Davies and the Director of the CRF, Nigel Brunksill about Leicester’s accomplishments in the year since its funding was announced, and its plans for the next four years.
Together with the BRC’s Theme leads, Professor Jacqui Shaw, Professor Gerry McCann, Professor Laura Gray, Professor Anna Hansell, Professor Tom Yates, Professor David Stensel, and Professor Manish Pareek they spent the day discussing key priorities such as research inclusion and impactful research, finishing the visit with a tour of our research facilities.
