Huge congratulations to Professor Kamlesh Khunti, the NIHR Leicester BRC’s Co-Theme Lead for the Data and MLTCs theme, on receiving the Outstanding Achievement in Medicine award at the GG2 Diversity Hub Leadership Awards this month.
This award recognises Kamlesh’s outstanding contributions to improving health outcomes globally through pioneering research in diabetes and vascular medicine.
The GG2 Leadership & Diversity Awards have become the UK’s foremost event for celebrating excellence in inclusion, diversity, and leadership. Each year, they honour outstanding achievements across diverse sectors such as medicine, law, technology, and community service.
Other 2026 winners included Rt Hon David Lammy MP, and Sir Professor Nishan Canagarajah, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leicester.
