Live music, food from around the world and family activities will be part of special summer event to thank people of Leicester who have contributed to health research in the city.
The free Summer Festival, taking place on Saturday 20 June at St Martin’s House Conference Centre, Leicester, has been organised to celebrate anyone whose experiences have helped shape research at the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) in Leicester.
Jeev Gunasekera, Patient and Public Involvement Manager for the NIHR in Leicester said: “Visitors can enjoy live music, family-friendly activities, and a variety of food from British, Indian, and Afro-Caribbean cuisines, while learning more about how research is improving lives locally and nationally.
“The festival will also give people the opportunity to meet researchers, hear about ongoing projects, and see how public voices have helped shape research studies and patient care in Leicester.
“Patient and public involvement plays an important role in health research, helping researchers design studies that better reflect the needs and experiences of patients and communities.”
The event is open to everyone, including family and friends, and attendees are welcome to drop in between 10am and 3pm on Saturday 20 June 2026 at St Martin’s House Conference Centre.
